i think his point was that it was still frozen
i never thaw my prawns they defrost very fast in water
Frozen or not. It clearly isnt why it got drop eye. Not unless you used it to beat the arowana over the head with it causing head trauma....

How do you know?? like I said he was munching on a frozen prawn that was quite solid with ice, I didn't think anything else of it until I read somebody's comment on another forum saying they fed a silver a large frozen prawn & noticed afterwards that it had D.E - After hearing about other 24K Goldenhead from the same batch getting DE it's looking more likely that he would of got it anyway. I'm really gutted 
Dude, believe whatever you want. If you want to believe that frozen prawns causes drop eye then you and that other guy whose post you read can start your own theory together. We are telling you it was from the head trauma your friend caused but you clearly do not want to believe it.
Perhaps when you dropped the frozen prawn into the tank your arowana headbutted it several times trying to defrost it with force.

that prawn would have been de frosted after the first few chews like i said prawns de frost fast in a tank thats why they sink so fast if they were still frozen they would float
anyway lets not talk about frozen prawn anymore as thats not the problem
anyway as soon as i saw the 24k from this batch i said they were white tank treated so i would say the cause it white tank or genes
they did look very nice when first imported but after a few months the shine level did drop on the 2 i have sean which tells me white tank treated they also looked a bit washe4d out and the gold was not intence which is another sign of white tank
a mate of mine mad a RTG that 8 RTG that were white tank treated and 2 got drop eye he covered ALL sides of the tank with black paper and one bright spot light bulb above the tank and left it like that for 3 months one of the aros eye got better the other one didnt
its not nice not to see in your tank for 3 months but for a £900-1200 fish it maybe worth a go

I did manage to fix a 8 inch silver arowana that had slight DE. It jumped and hit the glass and developed DE. I covered the entire with brown paper tank except for the top. I also lowered the water to only half way full. I fed it floating sticks only. After 3 weeks, the eye returned to normal. However, there is no cure for DE when a silver arowana reaches a certain size and depending on the extent of DE, if already pass quarter way, it is hopeless. Best things to keep in mind - keep all small fish out of the tank that can cause an arowana to chase faster them and get head injuries. Try to hide the filter tubes and heaters as best as possible, if you don't need a heater, don't use it. I believe DE is preventable but not 100% curable. Nonetheless, silver arowanas are still beautiful even if they have DE!!!!
What does hiding the filter and heater do? Also don't having backgrounds on your tank help prevent DE similar to the way you covered your tank?
