Is this pump safe to put in a pond with rays? It does 4200 gph and I wanna run two of these plus two fx5s on the ray pond I am building. Pond would be 10'x4'x2'. I just wanna make sure it isn't something that is gonna suck a rays tail into it or pull a ray up against it. Any experience or advice on weather I can use these or not would be a great help!

That pump looks good to me, how are you planning for heating your pond?? Need to make sure the heating part is going to be ray friendly as well.

The pond is going to be in my bedroom and I am gonna be running heaters in PVC pipe with holes drilled throughout it. I'm not sure how many heaters I will need because it is in my room and my room doesn't get overly cold so it's gonna just be something that is touch and go.

600 gallons of water is going to need at least 900 Watts of heaters. You will be to cut that down by insulating it really well and having a really good cover over your pond. For my tank ( same size) I have 1200 Watts of heaters. Only really need 900watts but extra is good. Plan to have monthly electrical costs alone go up by 50.00 each month well actually your pump uses the same wattage as mine but your running two so probably going to run you 75.00+ each month extra. Also if you do not have a dehumidifier your going to need one and they use another 700+ Watts of electricity so more cost. It will get really humid with out a really good cover kept on almost all the time. Problem with that is you can't really enjoy them then.

Another thought for you to help you save. Have you looked at the Laguna pumps? Low Watt usage and good pumps.

I plan on having a plexi glass top made for the top to completely cover the entire top of the pond except for the last like foot and a half where the water falls will come into the end. I have six tanks in my room now and all of those will be coming out so that will help just transfer the electrical cost from one thing to another, for the most part. I am just doing a pond because it costs a ton more to get a tank.
