Got a half-decent pic of my FM

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aye, I agree, Cyberman'a are more red, and they win out in that category (though yours is still nicely redded). But the rest of the fish, the sprangling of the fins and the grey and everything attracts me more than just the brilliant red in the end.

Agreed, I've seen a few FM's with blazing red all the way down to the tail, which of course is stunning to see, but the rest of the fish was a dull grey body and dull fins.
(Cybermans are not like this, but this was an example)
What I love on mine is the spangling in the fins. Can compete with most cichla when it comes to that.
I see we have a very similar taste in cichlids :)

Hahaha I love sprangles! And pearlings and the likes! :P Hence why when I knew of the existence of Elliotis in Australia I HAD to grab one right away, no questions asked. I also love Green Texans, for their pearlings. :P

Also yeah, I found out, we did indeed discuss your FM a bit in that 'who needs a cichla' thread. XD Turns out I liked your FM since then. XD

Anyways, given its current picture, does look like a normal FM, just with really nice spranglings. :) And color. And redness. And everything.

Thanks again, so humbling :)
Ellitotis are quite common here.. I had a pair, looking back that wasn't a good idea. They are far more aggressive and back then my tank was half the size.

Really? I've never kept FMs so I can't compare, but I've heard that FMs were more aggressive. Then again, I've heard so many conflicting stories about these guys. :P The common element tho, is that these like to put up a display of dominancy and their gill flarings look amazing, though they don't quite have the strength to back the threat when push comes to shove. Otherwise, yeah I've heard all sorts of things. :P

My FM likes to bully my rainbow cichlids a little but doesn't do any real harm.
The male ellioti I had beat up his female and another fish to their death :(
