If you don't have a refugium I would definitely suggest getting one. I keep all my equipment in there and my tank looks great.

I have no knowledge of sumps or anything. And my parents wont allow it. All of my equipment is already hidden in the back of the tank so that won't make a difference.
your gonna want that tank set up a few months (6+) before you put the mandarin in for the mandarin to have a chance of surviving long.
Is it for the copepods to establish? If so my lfs sells brine shrimp and I can get live copepods on craigslist. Or is it because of something else?
It's because mandarins are very sensitive fish that need a very established environment to live.

Cheapfish.co.uk has mandarins for 15.99, but that's in the uk, I love mandarins, they make me want so set up a marine tank
