Very nice! Love the yellow!

Is see the female has red on its fin - is that typical of losellei females? Or just happens to be red in this particular case?
I'm not sure actually. It's not actually red, more of a pastel orange, but it definitely stands out from her base yellow colour, and the male lacks it completely. These are my first decent sized loisellei so I can't compare to other specimens. This is her normal colouration too, not breeding dress. They seem to be preparing to spawn soon though, so keep checking back for new pics as I post them. :)

How large are they?

Could not tell that they are that large. They look great, and keep us posted if they spawn.

Awesome... I've been thinking of ordering some from Gage too

You should! Loisellei are surely one of the most underappreciated centrals. Admittedly, there are some specimens out there, probably due to years of inbreeding and poor genetics, that are quite ugly, but if you can source good quality stock and provide them a good diet they can turn out very nice. I personally think loisellei are second only to red tiger motaguensis in terms of colour in their genus.

Interesting. :P Would be cool to find out exactly what that color patch is all about. :3

Yeah, the believe the Orange "variant" are the Parachromis Loisellei "Panama"

Dan at CotA has some right now too. Good Job, I've always wanted some. And yes speaking of colors, as Juveniles they have purple, blue, green hues also.

The main reason I want to order some is - they are the only Parachromis species that hasn't spawned in my tanks
