Does anyone have an idea as to how to treat this? My Saltwater Punctato Butterflyfish eats like a pig, but he just won't gain the weight back. I have gone through this before with a Wrasse, which eventually 'starved out'. I know that it must be some sort of internal parasite, but I'm just not sure as to what to do anymore. Eats bloodworms, brine shrimp, and flake right now. Won't go after mysis or any algae products.
Afraid this is my last hope, as there isn't much info about treating such a thing-all help appreciated! Anyone gone through this before?

look at dosing deworm into the tank. I was once worried about internal parasites in my tank. I found some good info on just using normal dog dewormer.http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums...worming-marine-fish-super-pooper-snooper.html

Thanks! I did read through that article, and ended up buying Maracyn Two for Freshwater fishes, as the same person said that there was no big difference between the two treatments. One thing was less than in the saltwater one, just don't recall what it was. Can I just treat the tank with it?

EDIT: Did more reading, best recommended in a separate tank, which I have a 10 gallon setup else where. But has anyone had any experience with this product for such a situation?

Get a worming product, set up a 10 gallon treatment tank, filter etc. Keep water quality 1000000000% perfect, follow dosing intructions, keep offering food, try soaking it in garlic guard as well, as most parasites hate garlic and fish find it palatable.

These butterfly fish eat saltwater worms, coral polyps, crustaceans and marine algae. Things like brine shrimp and bloodworms do not give proper nutrients for them to survive. Commercial food is now available for them, but also marine clams and other oceanic food should be used.
