ID my hybrid cichlid please

Hi, I just got this new cichlid, the LFS said it was a firemouth but I know it's not, it appears to be some kind of parrot hybrid. It is grey and has dark grey vertical bars when stressed and a horizontal bar made up from loads of circular shapes, it appears to have an eye spot and its fins are blunt and not pointed at all, it also has a normal cichlid mouth that it can close unlike other parrots sorry for the blurry pics, I was thinking maybe a convict x parrot but I'm not sure, I'm sure some cichlid experts can help

But his fins are really curved and short, my other two adult parrots have really pointed fins

Ok, do you know how long it will be until he/she has colour, also when are they old enough to vent? It's about 1.5 to 2 inches at the moment

Old enough to vent now and as far as fading goes could be a week or it could be never. There's no way of knowing when or if they will fade.

Actually I wouldn't say he's faded because he's only 1.5 inches long, more like he hasn't started developing adult colour yet because he's only a baby

looks exacly like the unfaded ones at my local petsmart.. I bought one and it is a little bigger than when I bought it...and is yellowish orange(barley yellow, like a light orange almost) one day it was really stressed and near the heater and it had good coloration so i gues fading hurts, growing pains maybe? it will defenitly get better than that but it could end up not much better when an adult, genetics plays a huge roll...
