Peacock bass won't eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just picked up a 2 inch peacock bass and he won't eat anything besides guppies!!! Any suggestions on how to get him to eat pellets?

Well it helps if you have another fish in the tank that eats pellets so it can learn from them. But another option is starving it for a week or two. But with a fish that size I wouldn't do it. If I were you I would set up a separate tank and fill it with feeder fish. Feed them high quality foods so when they're fed to your bass they will be healthy for it. Also if there are any with diseases you will know. Doing this will make the bass healthier and almost completely eliminate the tisk of disease from the feeders. After he puts on some more weight from eating the feeders and length then you could try starving him. But try Massivore. Most fish love it.

I just got 3 Orino peacock bass around 3inches today. I separated them in different tanks but they wont eat anything but live. I put then together after few hours I threw in couple pellets they took it. In my opinion I think they'll do better in packs.

Mine still don't eat pellets so I stuff some in worms and feed talapia and shrimp I've had mid.e from an inch or so and I would guess him at 4.5-5 now
