dont think so, cause its not an injury, or a tear, it just happens.... one of mine still has the hooks upper and lower, the other 2 only the upper.... basically a cut happens, but its not a cut its like a chunk all of a sudden is missing, then you can see the new piece growing in from the inside out... this can be seen cause their tail has a black line around the edge, and when a new piece of tail is coming in to fill the gap, this black line is apparent, just inside the outer edge of the tail, then it grows outward.... this leaves many chunks missing and some chunks growing back, and some growing past the original tail edge giving that shredded appearance..... its not like other fish that get cuts in the tail due to stress, i think this is natural and is cause by the way their tail grows.... i actually like the look of my 2 shredded ones more than the points, but i'm sure the one with points will become shredded very soon
