Wow, I have never seen bettas like that. Thanks for the posting.

I must say I find the wild type much more interesting than the line-bred -splendens.
Some of the wild can be kept in shoals with more than 1 male.
The one above, Betta albimarginata is a mouthbrooder from Borneo.
I also have a small group of Betta edithae (pic below)in the same tank as the pair of albimarginatta.

So you were the culprit!! Hehe.

I bought 6 of them at Christmas time. Went back there last week to get 1-3 more and the tank had a SOLD via Aquabid sticker on them.

Nice pick up, Duanes! I can tell you right now, our batch has been there for a good 3-4 months without much growth.

2.5 weeks in my tank and they've colored up immensely since getting them. They've grown too! Not much, but more than I have seen them grow while they were at WS.

These guys are spunky and voracious eaters! Nice pick up, Duanes! Keep us posted!

Yes I went on line last week to buy Theraps lentoginosum and they were sold out, and then saw the ornatum, it was a no brainer.

A vendor on here(Discus Origins I think) has a WC show adult ornatum for sale. It was my first time seeing the fish as an adult. They look great - keep us posted.
