whoops! and a sexing question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would above all put more midas in. Let them grow together. Jags are ok, but, umo are no match for midas.

Fh should be out of the question.. I also keep a mayan with my bunch.

ok thanks, I have to say though....I don`t hold out too much hope for midas, as I very rarely see them anywhere near me....I definitely want to try a butti, and if I see more midas then will get a male or two if they have them, my JD is male....but in all honesty I doubt he will hold is own as the "big boys" mature properly....so will likely have to let him go?.....my ideal eventual stocking would be a couple of midas/devils, a butti, a jag, and one or two others....but I really don`t know what would be ideal tbh.

There is a lot of trying involved. Not assured it will work perfectly from the onset.

With ca's one needs to be ready to move fish very rapidly.

yeah I will be on the ready to do some moving around should the need arise, I have plenty of very large tubs (I use for transporting quarentining the snakes etc) so if needed these can be used as holding enclosures if things go wrong.....with regards to buttikoferi, my instinct (after owning my one for a long while) tells me I would be best getting one a bit smaller?....like you say, let it grow on with them...how would devils/midas fair against an angry butti?....I know they are tough, but I`ve seen and experienced first hand what an angry butti can do! :o

I agree with smaller butti.

But it will all depend on the individual fish. Midas and butti.

thanks....I will have to hope for some good stock at the shop on saturday! fingers crossed I get lucky and find what I`m looking for :)

He is stunning. Do whatever it takes to keep him. Years from now you will love yourself for keeping him!!!

What about a male blackbelt mine was super aggressive I couldn't compare him to a Midas or a devil but when I bought him he was running the tank with two slightly smaller midevils in it
