Noticed that my new Juvie Flowerhorn had a couple white spots on him. Luckily he was still in his quarantine tank. I did some research and cranked the heat up to 86.6, did a 50% water change threw a big bubble wand in and put 2 tablespoons of salt per 5 gallons of water. In a matter of 24 hours he has twice the number of spots that he did the night before. It seems that I read he would look worse before he looks better. Right now I am planning on leaving him in these conditions for 10 days.

Is there anything that I am forgetting?
 
yeah keep the heat and salt up and make sure you vacuum the gravel well when you do a wc. At 88-89 Ive been able to cure it in about a week, but if your in a qt anyways, 2 weeks would be a great idea.The high heat speeds everything up....

He is in a bare bottom, but I always make sure to vacuum it really well. When you say keep the salt up, do I need to be adding it everyday? I thought I just needed to salt back to the original level with water changes.

even better bare bottomed. Yes you are correct, just replace what you take out. Should be good in no time....
 
Cranked it up to 88. Looks like he is doing OK so far.
