answered your own question really...

Exactly if people didn't want them and they weren't in high demand they wouldn't sell for such a high price basically if there is always people willing to pay a high price no one will drop prices on them but I feel you it's expensive for a small fish but ill end up with some eventually

40$ never happen 125$ if you keep searching. I payed a little under that but I bought 10 of them tho. Hopefully in year or so I will have fry ;)

Yep, this guy is a pleco hoarder like me. Just can't seem to stop! addicting. Anyways one guy north of me is selling 3 for 900, 1f 2m... very steep in my opinion so 160 is good.

Nope...$40 is unfortunately a pipe dream :(

Yea no such thing if it was that price I know I'll have a bunch of them. I bought one over 20 years ago at $240 and the price still hasn't gone down. To be honest having one wasn't really worth it cause it would hide all the time and viewing was very limited.

I found one on aquabid.com for about $18-30 i forgot but it was a 2" baby
and one of my local vendors had one 3" for $40

If more people that do have them out te extra effort in and breed these fish, eventually the price would go down. If I can ever justify buying a trio of them that's just what I would do. If you can breed them and sell them for half what everyone else is , soon enough more people have them.

I got to get my money and time back out of the heard I bought first. I am putting fourth the effort. You need to buy a bunch and then you can be that guy ;)

Lol you must not be talking about the same pleco....or bidding had 6 more days to go. A 2" L46 is almost a year and a half old and a young adult.
