hello everyone, I constructed a glass aquarium (45x32x36 cm) with 5mm glass. I "glued" the front, back and side glasses on the bottom of the aquarium with silicone proper for aquarium use. I let it t cure for 5 days and then i notice that when i push (with considerable pressure) with my finger the one side of the tank it seems that is slightly moves (1-2mm max) from the joint and then comes back. That happens only when i press it on the top of the glass close to the corner/joint. Is this normal or i have to reconstruct it ???? If you have experience on aquarium constructions please help !! Thank you

Did you put and type of bracing around the tank?

hi oscarman0315, no i didn't put bracing. I just taped it around and left it for 5 days.
i might put aluminium corners from the outside of the tank from bottom to top (not around the tank), but if i don't do yoy think that these kind of movement is not normal???

oscar man means bracing inside around the top, strips of glass... thats a tiny tank, fill it up outside on something soft and test it, sure it will be fine at that size without bracing! you should have clamped it when you siliconed it really tho...

I wanted to leave it rimless... But if I have to put braces I will!

Its strange because is almost glass on glass contact (i cant even fit fishing lure in there to "unglue" and rebuild it) but is still moving!

So, the slight movement i(less than 1mm) is not normal?
Do you belive that if its ok on the test when I fill it , would be ok in the future??

Thanks everyone! :-)
