mixed african cichlid tank

hi was wondering if cooked white rice was ok to feed to my african cichlid tank.they seem to really like it i also give them romain lettuce.i saw the white rice on you tube with goldfish.im concerned if they can digest it properly thanks

Some of your cheaper fish foods use rice meal. I'm not sure I would feed rice to my africans. Lots of starch.

I've never heard of feeding them rice, but it seems like it would end up being messy. Mine really seem to prefer pulpy/stringy vegetables and fruit anyways like zucchini, squash, carrots, watermelon, etc.

i give mine algae tablets, spirulina flakes, nori, cucumber.

^i see that at petco but only for centrals/bottom feeders. do they have plant based versions?
