Fahaka in a 55G

Don't flame me... Just want to know how long it will take a fahaka to grow out a 55g from about 1.5" if he is by himself? 48x12x18 standard 55g. thank you!

6 months maybe assuming its a baby. less than that if its over a few inches when you get him

Hmmmmm alright. Would he be able to live for life in a 20 inch width 155?

No. They grow to about 17". a 2' depth should be minimum.

I'd go for a 2' wide 180+ for life, although the 155 will last a long time.

Ahhhhh I'm trying to stray away from the path of "I'll get a bigger tank when it's needed" ahahha. Are their any puffers besides the MBU and Fahaka that get a reasonable size with a bit of personality?

Well normally I also think of it like that, but a single Fahaka in a 150 is really going to be good for a long time.

Other than that, tetraodon suvattii and miurus also have quite the personality. Don't grow nearly as large though.

Yeah I've had a bad habit of buying fish that will obviously grow out my tank so I wanna stop that habit I'll look into those two thank you!
