How to tell if it's a Malawi cichlid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Of the three lakes malawi are most common. Malawi includes the mbuna (flat faced algae eaters like zebras) peacocks (medium sized with more pointed mouth) and large haps (similar to peacocks but larger). These are general statements. Most of the rest are from Tanginyka like shell dwellers, calvus and compressiseps, frontosas, cyprichromis, etc. The only Victorians in the trade are small haps like obliquidens and nyererei.

Hope this helps. When you see enough you will be able to tell.
