Jaguar Cat ate my Bichir

So I've had a new pair of Albino Bichirs for about 3 weeks the are both about 3-3.5". So I wake up the couple days ago see that my Jaguar cat is sticking half way out of his PVC tube that he lives in. I didn't really think anything of it until feeding time. An one of the Bichirs is no wear to be found. So I picked up the tube out swam the this super fat Jag. You can see in the the pics he's got a big old ish eating grin. Today I see that he has threw up the skin of the Bichir right in in front of his tube. The Cat is only about 5.5" an his mouth never seemed that big. I hope this doesn't start him liking the taste of fish.
Has anyone else have a Jaguar Cat that done anything like this?

Super fat! It's amazing what they can fit in theirs mouths. That's why you never trust a cat lol

The rule is: if it fits in their mouth, it's a risk and we are talking girthwise. A cigar-shaped bichir is good for that. Out of the woodcats, Jaguar woodcats are also known to be a bit more on the predatory side and have a relatively big mouth for a reason. I've had a well-behaved pair of ~6"-ers but none of their tankmates could fit in their mouth.

This was the first fish that my Jag has eaten. I think the Bichir swam into his cave an right in to his mouth. Cause my tank is full of fish that could fit into his mouth. He use to be house with about 6 2-3 loaches an 4" eel an never had a problem.

Right. That's why I used the word "risk". It can get realized sooner or later or never. That is the nature of risk But your additional info is valuable - yours are not all that predatory and that's one good data point to file.
