IPhone 4S cichla update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great idea on the dual 150g sumps but...In order to do that you will need to plumb them together. Dual pumps would make it more fail proof as well. if the sumps were not connected and you had a pump failure one of the sumps would overflow and spill onto the floor. Great idea w/ the dual sumps allowing you to incorporate a ton of media as well as a large section for pothos. But w/out plumbing them together and having dual pumps I think it could cause some problems. A UV is a great addition to your filtration as well. And since you are going all out how about a glass filter/and or ultima style bead filter?

Cant wait to see the new upgrades.

That and having one pump would save $$$ on the electric bill..

When you have cichla its not really about saving money.
A second pump would keep the system going if one failed. If only one pump all your filtration would be shut down. Not good for the bacteria in the media or the fish. Thats why a back up is always good.

Understand now... I guess having one pump would be smarter.

I thought wood was already dense lol? I mean yeah it has some weight to it, I was planing on letting it soak for a while before I started messing with it.

No, not all wood. If its not dense it may never sink, on top of that it may get wood rott and start falling apart. Om top of that, it may be a bad type of wood where it leaks harmful tannins.

It's been a stump for a very long time. So I feel like if it has rotted yet, it should hold very well in my tank. I just want to test wether it gives the water a funky color, don't really want that. Going to soak it for about a week and find out.

Having 2 pumps would be smarter. That way if one fails...your system is still running.

I like your idea w/ the 2 150g sumps. But, plump the sumps together for insurance/safety reasons. And run 2 pumps so you have would still have 1 running if one of the pumps fail.
