Kelbono Grow Out Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lookn good dovegrenade!
Glad to see this back where it belongs since it is a cichla.
There would be an awful lot of thread moving if all hybridized sub species of cichla were in a diff section....
and that would be dumb. SInce it is still a cichla. Might as well make a hybrid section for rays, catfish plecos etc then...ahahaa!

Thanks. And I'm glad the thread is back where it belongs. LoL

Apparently there is a shortage of guppy feeders in the area and the Rosie minnows are just a tad too big.
I'll have to go back to see if they have some smaller ones but I didn't recall see any today.
Any suggestions? I tried frozen brine and he showed no interest. Didn't try bloodworms yet.

Pretty sure there are pics of the parents at the start of the thread. I'll have to recheck, if not I'll add some in a bit :)

Also I'd like some expert opinions. I currently have the lil guy in a 25g and he's doing great. I have a 120 g 4x2x2 that I sold over a month ago and the girl hasn't picked it up yet and is in no rush until the summer.
Think I should just grow him out in that tank an then when she picks him up move him to a 75g unless I have my buddy's 140g by then.
Kelbono is around 3-4" at the moment.

To add to that, the 120g can go any weekend so I'd put the little guy in a 75g if need be or back into the 25g unless he's too big by then :)
I just want to make sure that putting him in a 120g while still on feeders shouldn't affect anything because of his size and the feeders may seem not as ready to him.
