Stay away from fish auctions.LOL

I always end up spending all night setting up accommodations for impulse buys.

Yea we have a fish auction this sunday:banghead: I'm there just looking for some young bushy nose plecos and albino socolofi and afra and that's it. Okay maybe a really oddball pleco or oddball hybrid. That's it.....I hope......

yes ! I have learned how to manage now, I used to impulse buy ALOT now I can wait for something really rare. The rare ones never coem to london tho, glad I dont make trips to toronto much or wow, id be in trouble.

our community tank was an impulse buy...and continues to house lots of impulse buys.. keeps me from buying larger fish on impulse. I get the "twitch" for a new fish.. i go to the store and get some more community fish for the munchkins tank. Otherwise we'de be up too our eyeballs in big fish... not that we already aren't.

I've made a few impulse buys over the years. I guess that's partly the reason for having over 30 aquariums. It's hard to go to a fish auction and not come home with something you had no intention of buying. I've often come home with 20 or more bags of fish. After acclimating them all I swear I'll never do it again, until next time. LOL!

My wife won't let me go anymore

That's the same thing that has happened to me. My wife has to go with me. If I buy something I get the silent treatment for the rest of the day.

This definitely isn't my wife's favorite hobby of mine.

No, not really. I rely upon my decision process to determine the correct fish I need and so, unless it's a fish I still am looking for and don't have, it's not getting bought. I save my spontaneous buying for the grocery store and book store.

I've had to walk away from archer fish the past few times I've gone to an LFS. Not bad price on them I just can't set up another tank just for them. Kind of depressing
