After 2 month on hikari sticks

i agree that Hikari makes the best fish foods. i currently feed my aro Jumbocarni sticks & my cichlids the small size Hikari sticks. it's a great diet & is less expensive then feeding silvers or shrimp.

I also agree, the colors of my silver has died down since a year ago, however, they are still beautiful at its current size.
Current diet is mostly jumbo hikari sticks, anywhere from 8 to 32 pieces a day. I give it super worms once a week and shrimp every other week.
It is not a picky eater and doesn't seem to prefer only one kind of food.

Actually it's just a silver arowana.

It's been a long time since I update this thread.
Here are some pictures for the New year.
It is currently at 20+/- inches long.
I am using Tetra's black water extract combined with crushed almond leaves for an intense backwater effect.
I will switch over to Kent's black water expert, I heard it is much stronger.
I just added the crushed almond leaves so the water should continue to get darker.
Black water really brings out the reds/pinks/oranges!
All fish also become more active!
My arowana loves it so much.
I will probably keep using black water extract and almond leaves from now on.

Day two. Almond leaves offers much more tannins than bottled solutions. Blackwater extract only darkens the water, while almond leaves actually add a shimmering effect to the water.
