How many jewels in a 55 gal?

My friend wants to have a 55 gallon tank of just jewels for some reason... He wants to know how many he'd be able to put in there comfortably... Does it matter If he mixes species or anything like that?

experienced African keepers would load up a 55 long 14-24 mixed . I haven't kept Jewels (though they are on my list) I would imagine they would be be the same as most African's; keep a male to 4 females (approx) ratio and provide ample hides.
