I tend to agree with the natural hybrid theory. These IMO are my favorite parachromis. Sadly i lost the female and the male went depressed and i got rid of him luckily i have some fry for a future pair.

Not yet lol... Still have a few inches to go till they get there. The la ceibas are incredible fish with crazy colors and can be held in regular aquaria unlike dovii. My male dovii has recently started to show signs of being a nutcase with his new girl so my opinion may change soon. The colors my Dovii are showing right now are off the charts.
 
Great fish! A pity the female La Ceiba died..
