Juvenile Flowerhorn wont eat floating pellets

Heres the story I got a red dragon juvenile FH about 4 days ago and he simply wont eat floating pellets ive tried Hikari Gold, Alife and even hikari freeze dried blood worms...now on the other hand he absolutely loves frozen brine shrimp i mean like he rips that sh*t up, eats about 5-8 of them a day i know it seems like over feeding but thats not even as much as he will eat in 3 minutes, so any ideas on how to get him to eat floating pellets, ive herd people say to starve them for 2-3 days but dam really???this is my first fish/flowerhorn so any advice would be greatly appreciated.:D I have not tried to feed him store bought shrimp or beef heart but will try to eventually.

Filter-2 Aqua Clear 110's
Heater-Eheim 150 watt
Decor-2 Tiki masks in the corners with plants
Aerator-Volcano with airstone inside
Gravel-Gravel
Fish-1 Flowerhorn.
 
Are you feeding small enough pellets to start him out?
 
you need to starve it. the longer u keep feeding frozen brine shrimp, the longer it'll take to get him to take pellets. it's not going to starve to death

Sometimes you get a fish that just wont eat at the top, soak his food in water and have it sink to the bottom.when ever I get fry I always seem to get one that refuses to eat at the top.
