Aquatop Canister/UV filter Reviews and experinces

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good luck with it, I had to buy 3 in order to get one to work..

Priming button on all three didn't work.
plumbing pieces missing , cheap plastic materials.....

one leaked bad seal, actually head motor unit and canister seemed to be a bad fit?

another one came in used, had some water in unit and was missing the most pieces.?

the other unit is still running after one year, UV function failed within 90 days, seal on UV leaked filled with water.
Not sure UV function really would have any effect on tank water quality ? design seemed it was just a marketing afterthought

You get what you pay for and cutting quality control costs is what this MFG appears to have done?
Would not buy this filter as a primary , only as a secondary filter .
My two cents..

Haha, yea well it was a tank starter unit... In the summer I was planning on getting a bigger tank and an Fx5... So with the Fx5 and this filter I figured it would be good.
Mine came in with a peice of paper stating it was a NEW canister and not used I was a little confused about that I guess I now know why haha.

So far Ive had no problems. As for the UV its kinda small for a 125 tank but if you leave it on for a few days it will work.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your tank !

The light kinda hits the rocks funny so the camera makes them seem REALLY bright ! The water is crystal clear tho ! Need some more fish now !

Yea They would be cool. Im really not to picky, mostly males in the tank. What ever catches my eye really... Slowly stocking it up.
