As for the lifespan, 10 years for a Jag isn't that long. 15-20 years is more like the expected lifespan.

While we're at it, let's talk about something else. Will lighting have an effect on growth? I use 8 four foot t5's currently. It is a lot of light now that the tank is more bare, it was a lot less with all the plants.

I believe Mel had a male live to around 20 yearsish. I believe the father of his current dovii lived 17 years. Aquamojo's male jag Jumbo lived to be over 13.
It's rare to see people raise fish this long. 10 years IMO is a solid lifespan compared to most fish we see on here.

Great looking Dovii! He has some real nice blues (even with the blurriness). I had a 7 inch female that I traded away about 4 months ago, unfortunately ..... she would have liked your male...... I look forward to following his growth. Please keep this thread going.
