I tried taking some shots with the lens but I can never get the details you achieve?

hey buddy, you need an off camera flash.

as to your settings, you need to bring your iso down to 100-200, shutter speed as close to 1/200 or faster to get better detail. if you want your whole fish to be in focus use an aperture of around f11 and above.

you will need more light.

I have a flash but its not external it's the built in one don't think I can't afford one right now 😕
