Snakehead ID help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here are some pics of the 3 brothers / sisters that I kindly received from addicted. I've been trying to ID them as well, and felt they were gachua. Unsure which variant / region.
Camera phone pics....not the greatest, but they never stop moving.

Mine have shown a very light body, with some colouration just starting to show in the fins.

They look great!! We're on our way to leduc to see if we can find something to use as floating top cover and I'll be checking parameters today. Only one of our snakeheads is showing colour and is a lot chubbier than the other. The other has a lot of dark blue. Glad to see they're doing well =)!!

Your shot's only reinforce my guess that it's a Channa Gaucha Variant from thailand , My best guess you have Channa Gachua Limbata caught out of Thailand.

Thanks DC, I'll look into that variant. I have assams but am just starting to learn about the gachua complex.

Keeping them at 74F in a heavily planted setup currently.

They look very happy and healthy, that's a good temperature for them . Any signs of pairing or aggression between any of them ?

BTW - If either of you get them to breed and are willing to ship a few fry out here too the east coast shoot me a message!
