Snakehead ID help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We had started feeding them everyday(whoops =S) and I noticed plumpness immediately so were back to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I also didn't know they need less food in the winter so thanks for the intel =) we've been keeping the temp at 73-74 and have added fake floating plants for top cover which has improved there attitudes dramatically. I feel bad for being ignorant to all these things but my eyes and ears are open!! Also, what kind of water flow do they do best in? I read somewhere that they like more still water, and we are currently using a power head for circulation-should I be removing this?

It depends on the species, but yours will prefer very little water movement.
Don't worry about being ignorant to these things. A lot of people ask questions and ignore the answers. It seems like you are very interested in giving them a good life, so I'm sure no one will mind helping you out. Ask as many questions as you need.

I just feel bad for not acquiring the information before purchasing them but I guess in this case it would've proved irrelevant since I didn't get what I thought I was buying lol none the less, I have become addicted to channa and since we have no children or other pets these guys are like our family. I was beside myself when our pulchra died, so I'm doing my best to give them everything they need. It's also my one and only hobby so the more information I can soak in from the community the better =) all the advice is very much appreciated
