im really really diggin the color on that GG

I have NEVER seen one that will tolerate another GG, after 5 inches. Different types of fish are fine, of course.

Actualy i've tald about guppies because they are smaller than GG's mouth and not eaten.. And i've tald about lot more fishes he've lived with include, Koi, Swordtail, Platy, Molly, Iridesent shark, Angels, Goldfish, Bala shark, Tinfoil barb, Kissing gourami, Rainbow cichlid, severum, silver dollar, Spotted snakehead, and much more....
And also 7 inch Albino (red eye) GG, 3 inch Yellow GG, 6 inch Gray GG...
That GG batch (4 GGs) lived together almost 3 months on 40 gal without any aggression and other 3 died due to toxic came with my tap water and big one survived luckyly...
So who knows?
But i know it's greate kind of fish.

ive had 5 in a 1700gallon indoor pond given enough space they will get along, also had to in a 180 gallon also. seems like you have had bad luck with them.

Osphronemus gouramis are primarily vegetarians, not fish eaters, probably why the guppies aren't bothered with. Mine would polish off a head of romaine lettuce every other day.
I had 3 that lived together peacefully for years, although they outgrew a 150 gal tank within a year.
When they outgrew a 300 gal at 16+", I gave them away.
They all lose the pointed snout as they mature, and really need around 1000 gallons.

Yup they are vegetarians, but will eat smaller fish.... We should not provide meety food, then they will eat only veggies.

Is there an update photo? It's been a little over 30 days and should be close to 15 inches now.
