Managuense are endemic to the waters in and around the great lakes of Nicaragua (Lake Managua, hence the name). The lake has a pH of approx 8.5 and conductivity of 200- 5500mS. Managuense are highly adaptable though, and most of the available stock is tank raised, so there is no need to mess with your water hardness unless you are susceptible to pH crashes, or you have wild specimens.
