First looks: new wild rapps midas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I didn't know he had 4.5" Midas WC, all I saw were 6.5" or more. This pair makes me want more, but I now have too many of the amphilophus complex, can't fit them all!

I am very curious if (1) the color stays and (2) if the male WC can match the hump as much as the tank raised ones. I have always seen WCs being with more streamlined bodies.

I have a two year old wild caught male and he doesnt have a hump. Actually i have yet to see a wild caught male with a huge hump but yet a ton of f1s with huge ones. My f1 has a huge hump yet my older f0 doesnt get one no matter what.

Yes that is what I thought too -- wilds don't have as prominent nuchal hump. Maybe that makes them slower or somehow unsuitable in the wild, and hence they never develop it? IDK.

Those are not pure though, and as ive mentioned before when put in tanks they lose there humps and unlike store bought captive raised midevils they dont get them back. Ive even collected a spawning pair in hopes that with his mate he wouldnt lose it and it didnt work.
