Hi guys, what the going price for a 3" - 4" L600 private sell and store sell. My LFS has one 3"- 4" l600 for sale for $120 + tax the grand total is going to be around $130. I live on the eastcoast, what do you guys think Is it a rip off or should I pull the trigger and get it.

Email Jim in Michigan who breeds them, I think he sell them for 55 each, not sure how big they are.

The one I'm looking at is from Jim batch of l600. The person went to a fish meeting in the Washington DC area got it for $55,then gave it to a LFS to sell for him for $120 it kinda shady he wont drop the price too.

I'd go to the source and pay shipping otherwise you could end up with an l114 for over l600 prices.

^^ I agree too

I been looking at it every time I go there for 3 month now. The dots on it head is very fine and it has a full red tail. I'm a 100% sure this came from Jim. I bein told that the source is sold out of l600 from the previous batch.

Also, if you're near DC, you may want to check out Aquamania this weekend. I'm not sure if there will be L600 for sale, but the sponsors mention unusual fish: https://www.facebook.com/events/303976923036832/

Another thought, maybe some of these will be available at the PVAS April 7 all-day auction. PVAS was one of the sponsoring organizations for the catfish convention: http://pvas.com/calendar.php
The person who was selling Jim's L600 from his room at the convention may have an extra few to sell?

$120 is a fair price...you guys are comparing it to $55 which is a steal and not always available. Yes you can order, only when it's available, but then you will have to pay shipping which is another $30-40 or so, how much are you really saving? Also you do not get to pick and risk of getting one that is not so great and the possibility of losing the pleco during shipping. If you've been looking at it for 3mnths and really like the particular one, then stop waisting time and just get it. And then once it's not available you will be saying damn I should've gotten it...If it's a nice specimen I say GO FOR IT!
