15" Dovii ...... Built like a Freakin' Brick House!

I acquired this guy from a fellow MFK Hobbyist a few weeks ago. Tracing back the linage we think it came from Ruck Fules WC Pair. This guy is massive to say the least.... borderline obese in my opinion! This FOOTBALL measures 15" long, 6"+ tall and probably 2.5"-3" thick. His hump has gone down a tad since he was delivered but that should rebound when I find him a girlfriend.

Impressive looking Dovii for sure but don't kid yourself you know he's a fatty and that's why you love him. Seriously though I'm sure he'll slim down into a lean mean killing machine in your care sir. Good luck with him and by all means update as this grows and I mean as he grows length wise not height or width wise.

It's actually the contrary. This was one of 8 - 1" Fry that he bought and it was the dominate one, killing off most of its siblings. He was a solo fish kept in a 180g. tank all of it's life. The previous owner says it's about 1.5 years old.... I'm thinking it was just spoiled with food and well fed.

I see, with that information I will retract my short and stunted. Replace it with its a fatty mc fat fat! Like I said still a nice fish!

Considering they get to over 20" short is a possibility. Stunted is also a possibility because if it was older and kept in a 55gal it would still get to 15"+ but would be deformed, thus giving it the height and being short in body lenght. With the reply by the op about its age and tanks size I would agree it is not either one of those. Without that info both are possible. As I have seen first hand this exact look to a dovii from being in a 55gal all its life.

Armac used to have a dovii like that. Shot blanks till it slimmed down.

Lol... The previous owner had a female for him and it spawned. Just one day he went "OJ" on her and he had to relocate her to a new home. Planning on slimming him down a bit and finding him a lady friend.
