Just picked up a few packs to target some spotted bay bass and calico bass. Never been a huge fan of swim baits, but I always hear how great these are so I grabbed some. What are your experiences with these? What fish do you target? What colors do you like/prefer? Any other suggestions, comments or questions are welcome!

Big Hammers have worked great for years. We fish SWBA and BH was a regular Choice for us.

If your using them this time of year, I'd slow roll off the bottom. Calico special and Christmas tree are go-to colors.

Sounds great, I have the calico colors, I'll go pick up a pack of Christmas tree. And specific sizes?

Awesome, thanks. What length and weight is the rod you prefer for calicos? I just picked up a 7' 12-25lb Abu Garcia.

depends how I'm fishing them. If I'm off let's say LB break wall. I won't use less than 20lb and 20-40lb heavy action rod.
You need to make sure they can't take you into the rocks
The same goes for fishing them off reefs. I often throw the same setup because you need to turn their head immediately.
Most of my rods are 7-9' All 50 of em haha

I'll most likely be fishing in the bays and harbors. Possibly out on a boat every now and then. Thanks for the info! Any other colors that you favor?
