Any other gecko lovers?!

F1 yours looks kind of like a harlequin/brindle but it's hard to tell exactly from the pics. I find the best way to get good pictures of cresties is to put them on a white background when they're fired up. Try your best to not use the flash as it washes out there colors. Yours could be a blushing. I have a few that have the pink chins as well. It really shows off nice on orange geckos.

Most are pretty chill when it comes to handling but I do have one that is an absolute psycho when you take him out.

And I didn't realize he's a frog-butt!!!

Just either try and entice on to ur hand by lightly poking its rear end or pick it up very gently and try to avoid grabbing it as they can be slippery little buggers and u could accidentally grab its tail.

Haha yea that's why i like him! I heard they store fat in their tails so would that mean mine needs more feedings?

And do you think he looks ok? First gecko so im not 100% familiar yet, i give him a fresh dish of Allen's Repashy every night just before the lights go out.

Night time humidity is 70-85%, day time is 40-50%, sound right?

Live plants seem to help a lot too

Well since my guy is "tailess" no worries there, he did feel very fragile, he was pretty calm imo, thx for the advice :-)

This species has a pretty slow metabolism compared to most gecko species and they really don't store fat in their tails like Leopard Geckos. In fact, they actually have pretty advanced and sophisticated tails thanks to them being prehensile and that may be the main reason why they don't re-grow back when lost like the other members of the Rhacodactylus genus. Over 80% of the adults in the wild lack tails which means they can't be THAT important for survival.

Your gecko looks to be in good shape/weight so you can actually go with a feeding schedule of every other day. Will he take any live food? Some of mine LOVE crickets and roaches while a few of them won't even touch them.

Your humidity levels sounds fine, just make sure to mist the tank in the morning too when the lights go on. And live plants are the way to go. All my tropical gecko species have them and they really do help to keep the humidity levels high. Not to mention they look much nicer than fake plants.

Yea the tail never bothered me, me and my gf narrowed down our first crested to a dalmation which had a tail for 70$ or and mine was 65$, he threw in the plants, tank and lid for 80$cash w/ the cresty, so i thought i made out ok!

So far the plants seem to be growing, i have a 18" florecent bulb above the lid, so hopefully its getting enough lite, i mist the plants with fish tank water thinking that the n03 will help fert naturally, but when i mist the cage is always purified water.

Appreciate the advice as always and its great to know he looks to be in good health!

Any other tips or tricks would be fantastic, i was going to buy a 20tall and find a nice female to cohab eventually.

Thanks a lot man!
