Bala sharks take years to grow to full size and bgks rarely grow fast. I had both in a 29 for like 2 years before they even got close to being too big for the tank

Properly cared for they would outgrow a 29g much quicker then two years. Regardless of that, why on earth would you even be suggesting fish that out grow the tank anyways Piss poor advice.

Sorry man. I ended up getting into this hobby because I needed a larger tank for my fish. He is right tho eventually the balance and the bgk will outgrow the tank. Eventually.

Maybe some SA cichlids, exodons, large community of dwarf puffers

You can't fit any of those in that tank. And you could do some pea puffers with live plants.

I completely agree about the Bala Sharks - I have had mine since January and although that isn't long I haven't noticed it getting any bigger at all. Have to disagree about the BGKF though - I have had mine since January (both of the fish are in a 33gal by the way) and he is getting massive already!

Weird... I had a bgk and a buddy of mine did too both in 20 gallon tanks and they never got bigger than 5" and were skinny even though they were well fed. Bala sharks take forever to get to full size. They grow so slow. I have this giant one and he's like 6 years old
