Am I really the only human in recorded history to put HOBs on the side of the aquarium, functionally converting them to HOSs?

Out of curiosity though, do you ever run into problems with mechanical filtration? My newest set up is going to have a sponge filter in it, among other things, and I was a little worried about the solid waste build up.

my over filtered 55. and thinking of adding yet MORE sponge filters. and no i dont run into any problems.
