Will i have better luck with getting a spawning pair by purchasing several young fish and selling the rest once 2 have paired up OR buying a male and female young adult and crossing my fingers?

I prefer to get a bunch of juvies, grow them up and let them pair up naturally. Usually less expensive, and allows for extras in case one is killed.
I have also bought proven pairs, but the price is usually much higher, and just because they are were a pair for someone else, doesn't mean that pair bond carries over. And if it doesn't carry over, chances of 1 being killed by the other is high.

Thanks, thats what i was thinking myself. Have you personally bred festea? Is a 125g big enough for a breeding pair? They would be in there alone.
