Eheim Jager suction cup problem

Is it only me that thinks the suction cups, no pun intended, suck? It seems like i'm always having to remount them. Anyone else have this problem and is there anything you bought to replace them or did to make them work?

I made some DIY acrylic heater and intake pipe holders for my Eheim equipment to replace the suction cup part of the OEM equipment. They are very easy to build and just hang on the rim of the aquarium.
