Honestly the earthquakes when I lived in California were worse than the tornados here are. At least with these you have some warning. Although I was in Napa Valley when the big San Fran earthquake hit so that might have something to do with me not liking them as much.

when i lived out in cali for a about a year..people actually said they had tremors almost daily......... then i felt a few myself....... i am back in ny now ;)

I never feel earthquakes. Maybe 1 a year, if that. Even if I do they are tiny, and we have a fault running right by our town apparently (not the San Andreas).

Was napa hit hard by the big earthquake? I wasn't born yet and my parents didn't live in the north bay at the time, so I've never heard how bad it was in this area.

A couple years ago, there was a good one that went through Hugo, MN. I was staying with a friend a couple miles north of there in Forest Lake, MN at the time. It just happened that that weekend, we were out of town, camping. When I got home, my poor beans still had hail in the planters! I was devastated that my poor beans were maliciously slaughtered! >8^(

We don't get many tornadoes here in Arizona ..but we do get microbursts which have tornado force winds that rush downward out of clouds in front of violent storms ,I have experienced several of these up close and personal .... nothing quite like seeing iron pool chairs going by at 60 mph:popcorn:

Nothing serious but I felt it and there was minor damage like driveways cracking, and this was all the way in Modesto so it's not like it was that close to SF. Watching the world series game when it hit and then feeling it was very eerie too.

Wow, my parents were in the South Bay and said that when they ran out of their apartment, someone across from them was acting excited, but saw his huge aquarium shatter through his doorway.
