I bought some New Life Spectrum 2mm Sinking Pellets and when I put them in my tank, about half of them don't sink. It's really frustrating because many of them end up in my overflow and in my sump.

Is there an easy way to get them to sink? I just bought these pellets 2 days ago. I have all my food on automatic timers so I'd like to find a way to make them sink as easy as possible with my setup.

I've stored nls for months and had no problem with them sinking. Could try freezing them? All else fails take them back.

Mix them with water in a separate container or cup until they sink.

Raise the auto feeders so there's a bit of force when the pellets hit the water. If you gently place a sinking pellet on top of water, it will float--so will a paper clip.
