When I got my tig the last owner said to put him in a glass bottom tank so he can find food easier. He's almost 4 inches, do you think he will be ok in this gravel or do you think I should wait intill he's bigger and if so how big? I don't want to have to take the gravel out because of the undergravel filters.
thank you!

And sorry about the cheep little cave, just had it laying around and I want him to get the idea of being out in the open but feel comfortable at the same time. Unlike my Niger which I have to wait for the moon lights to see him since he likes to hide in the daytime.

I think he should be fine, even though that's more of a pebble then a gravel. Just make sure you drop the food right near him since their hunting areas are very small when young

Ok, I'm feeding him guppies so im thinking he won't have too much trouble finding them I'm hopping. My sturgeons eating blood worms and he seems to be finding them ok but I might just wait intill he can take a rosy. He still still has room in his tank.
Anyone else?

bump

since alot of cats tend to eat gravel.. imo not worth the risk... but thats just me. my cats are on a fine sand -like gravel that they can easily pass.

If I wait intill hes about6 inches or so do you think it would help any?

At 4" can easily eat rosey. I agree on grave being eaten is the only issue with that catfish will always find food and would try to get on pellets soon

Anyone have any other ideas with out removing the gravel?
