Fish that require similar care to a ray?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Imo its just space that is the differense, every fish needs good water. You need to change more water becouse you feed more. Stingrays are pretty hardy imo.keeping discus properly is way harder.

If you have the space.. ime rays are easier.. I was scared i'de lose my first retic when i got him from everyone saying how hard they are to keep.... my spiney eels are way more challeneging day in and out.. and my aba aba was by far much harder to raise. rays are just dirty fish that get big... if you have the proper set-up and basic knowledge they really aren't hard.

What fish do you think are as demanding as rays? not space/money wise, but care wise.

To tell the truth rays are not that demanding

They just require good water and good food

Basically just the good care you should provide for any fish

Rays can handle a wide range ph higher nitrates

I would say angles and discus are harder to take care of

A large tank good food and regular water changes is all it takes

And buying a healthy ray to start with possibly captive bred to cut down the risks wild caught rays sometimes have

Don't be fooled into thinking rays are hard to keep as they are not as long as you are a experience fishkeeper its no harder than your average community tank its more simple in some aspects as you have a larger volume of water

The only thing thAt makes rays difficult is the size of tank and the massive bio loaf. In my opinion it would be like a very picky red tail cat
