Oh, they are really cool but they get around 20" for this particular kind so they need a 100+ gallon tank.
 
They can be butts! They are similar in attitude to say leporinus. They have this period of maturity where they will snap and behave their worst and then they calm down. At least thats my experience. Large tank space is a must. Ours was unbearable in our 125. We gave to a buddy. with a pond
