Some good looking youngsters:)

What are you feeding them at that size?

Thanks letstalkfish!
These guys were raised on 100% quality flakes and now are eating Hikari pellets with a main diet of Hikari Bio-Gold and i mix in Hikari Gold a couple of times a week just to change it up a bit for them

Nice, they look to be around 3-4"? Did the male parent have a noticeable kok? I'm going to be picking up 2 3-4" GT's pretty soon and I hope they look as good as these guys.

Male #1 is about 3.5" and male#2 is right at 3"

The Male i used to breed these does have a kok but nothing like the fry he is turning out and he didnt start developing it untill he was 4.5-5". If these stay on their current pace they will put his kok to shame by the time they are at the size he started growing his kok.

Thanks and good luck! I know Green Terrors/Gold Saums are one of my favorite fish to keep so i hope you enjoy them as much as i do.
A suggestion though...dont settle for a male you arent sure about. Usually the better looking(more/wider orange on the tail, longer/taller fins, and more color in general) they are when young the better potential they have as adults. It took me a while to find my current breeder male and i am so glad i waited and was pickey because he is producing some very nice fry and hopefully a very nice breeder male or two.

your fish look great! Male number 2 is possibly the greatest 3" looking gold saum I have seen thus far. I would definitely like to see how he turns out. Do you ever feed them bloodworms would it promote nuchal hump growth? My green terror had internal parasites until finally after trying to treat him he started eating the hikari frozen bloodworms. Now he spits out everything else and has seem to lost his appetite for the hikari pellets he was previously on. Any suggestions? Would definitely want my fish to grow out a nice kok.

Thank you! I will keep everyone updated on their growth no worries.

As far as blood worms go i do use them but typically only for my adult/mature cichlids as an occasional treat. These ^^^ young GT's have only been eating flakes and pellets. If all he is eating is bloodworms and wont take anything else try not feeding for a couple days and then feed him only the pellets. If he gets hungry enough he will take the pellets. Just make sure you cut way back on the amount of blood worms you feed him or he might reject the pellets again.

best advice i can give is keep up the water changes and make sure he is getting a rounded diet. Seems to work for me.

Wow #1 looks a lot like mine.
