Helpp NEW baby MOTOROs born TODAY what to do ??

Help... PLEASE my motoro female birthed 2 baby rays about 2 hours ago
they are in a 6 x 4 x 2 tank with 2 large male and 2 large female motoros

HELPPPPP am I supposed to take the 2 babies out and isolate them in their own tank ?

am I supposed to take the new MOM RAY out and leave her in tank with baby rays ?

Grats on the pups! Its probably best to isolate the pups and give them a sufficiently sized tank.

After pups are out of tank change water in main tank too

Let the males knock her up and then divide the female after so she can rest

I wouldn't have moved them to a different tank unless its connected to the main tank ie the same water as the slightest change in water parameters can kill

The best solution is to make a cage from egg crate with the bottom open so the pups sit on the bottom like normal then put a few rocks on top

You can make a cage easy with egg crate and tie wraps cable ties

Have you ever lost any pups by moving them to a different tank? I wonder if this is just somthing that gets parroted over and over.......I have moved over a DOZEN LITTERS of newborn pups to an unrelated tank and have not noticed any discomfort and have'nt lost a one.

I have always moved the pups to their own tank. The pup tank is seperate from the main tank, but all water, substrate, and filter material comes from the main tank.
