My friends 55 gal broke and he kinda stuck me with a pair of nicaraguensis. I have them in a 38 quarantine before I add them to my 55. Im just wondering if they will get along with my stock in the 55.
The 55 stock includes
4 polypterus
1 leopard ctenopoma
And a raphael cat

The nics are 3 inches all of the aforementioned fish are 4 inches plus will there be any problems and how long can I keep them untill they need a bigger tank?

senegal bichir is 6"
delhezi bichir is 6"
Tuegelsi bichir is 4"
raph cat is 8"
leopard ctenopoma is 6"

the nics are the smallest fish in the tank at like 3"

Bump for compatibility

Update: they ate carnivore pellets like champs this morning

i have hikari carnivore pellets bloodworms flakes hikari algae wafers do these sound okay?

That should be ok, but I would given them a cichlid pellet as a main food. They will pretty much eat anything.
As far as comparability goes they should be fine but I don't know much about bichirs but make sure the nics don't end up as food. You will really need a bigger tank for the long term.

im getting a 5x2x2 150 in a few months so that should be fine. Im not worried about the bichirs i was more worried about the two nics attacking the others but i think i should be okay.

My Nics (7total/3pr & a spare) are in a species tank, so I can't say too much about compatibility. But, mine don't seem to like floating pellets too much. I feed them a mixture of NLS & sinking fish nuggets from wet thumb aquatics
