Just got done doing a job at an area chinese buffet. Saw this tank. Its overstocked I would say. The water is pretty clear. I don't know what the water parameters are. I'm guessing the ammonia is of the charts.

the water is crystal clear but i agree over stocked and couldnt hurt to fill the tanks up and add some cover...
is that an arowana in the 2nd tank?

I will say the fish look to be healthy though

One issue with overstocking is the fish can become stunted. However when purchased at adult (or close to), then it doesn't matter, the fish has reached close to it's maximum. And then all you need is really good filtration.

No. You can't put a full grown Arowana in a 55.

This wasn't a full grown arrow or a 55 I was zoomed in from across the hall. It was a 40. They had scotch tape holding the intake tube on the h.o.b. filter. Lol.

Obviously it's within reason... you can't put a full grown Texas in a 15"x4"x10" (or something of the sorts) for example. Well you can but well, obviously no recommended.
